Spotlight on the Region's 20 Largest Projects Started and 20 Largest Completed

by Tom Stabile

Recognizing the largest projects by dollar volume in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut certainly doesn't tell the whole story of what has happened in the regional construction market in the last year.

But the industry's biggest projects - such as New York Harbor's massive dredging operation, the lofty Freedom Tower, Hartford's new Connecticut Convention Center, the Meadowlands Xanadu development in New Jersey, or downtown Brooklyn's courthouse tower - still offer vibrant snapshots of the complexity, variety, and volume of construction work in the region.

Our coverage focuses on the top 20 projects that got underway and the top 20 that reached substantial or final completion over the last year - a list that includes more than $16 billion worth of new buildings and major infrastructure work. The links that follow profile these 40 leading regional projects.
