How the survey was conducted:

New York Construction’s Top Specialty Contractor ranking aims to identify the specialty contractors and subcontractors that are most active in the New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut markets. We sent survey forms to subscribers, members of contracting associations, and companies across the industry. We made follow-up calls to encourage greater participation. We then compiled all information reported by the responding companies on the official survey form – which required a company officer’s signature attesting that the statistics supplied are valid – and tabulated the data. From those results, we are highlighting the companies in the region with the highest billing totals in each category of comparison in 2005. The charts of data by specific specialty areas reflect combined New York-New Jersey Connecticut totals.
