Saint Dominic's Dinner Raises $1.2 Million

Construction industry turns out for 26th annual event. Also, ULI hosts young leaders networking event.

Nominees for the 2006 Energy New York Award met at a recent event where the New York Energy Consumers Council announced Douglas and Jonathan Durst of New York's Durst Organization as the winners. From left: David Bomke, the council's executive director; Steven Castracane, Pathmark Stores, an award nominee; Louis Esposito, Durst Organization; Gerard Schumm, council president; Yvette Wright, Silverstein Properties, another nominee; Gregg Popkin, CB Richard Ellis, a nominee; and Tony Cartagine, Jones Lang LaSalle, also a nominee.

 

More than 1,250 people representing New York's business, labor, and construction communities recently gathered at the Waldorf-Astoria hotel in Manhattan for the 26th Annual Friends of Saint Dominic's Business & Labor Awards Dinner, which raised a record $1.2 million for the nonprofit. Attending, from left, were: Nathan Lebron, a former Saint Dominic's Bronx Group Home resident and Harvard graduate; Rosanna Scotto, Fox 5 News anchor and dinner emcee; Fred Coffey, president of Lehr Construction; John White Sr., chairman of the Friends of Saint Dominic's board and partner at Structure Tone; Sister Joseph Mary Mahoney, president of Saint Dominic's; Judith Kydon, executive director of Saint Dominic's Home; Ted Moudis, partner of Ted Moudis Associates and recipient of the Francis J.P. McHale Memorial Award; and Gregg Popkin, senior managing director of CB Richard Ellis and recipient of the Victory Award.

 

HOK New York in February hosted a wine- tasting and networking event for the Urban Land Institute's Young Leaders Group. Nearly 50 members of the group for ULI members under the age of 35 turned out for the event. From left: Susan Kolasa of JPMorgan Asset Management; Chris Laul of HOK; and Anthony Chang of Hines.

 

The new board of directors for the Real Estate Board of New York's Commercial Brokerage Division recently had its first meeting, attended by, from left: Robert Nager, Murray Hill Properties; Paul Massey, Massey Knakal Realty Services and the board's chairman; Stephen Riker, Colliers ABR, the vice-chairman; William Montana, Studley Inc.; and Franklin Speyer, Cushman & Wakefield.
