PWC’s National Chapters Meet in New York

Professional Women in Construction’s various chapters recently met in New York to discuss membership and legislative initiatives.

Members of the New York office of HOK Architects participated in Daffodilfest, in which over 500,000 daffodil bulbs donated by Hans van Waardenburg of B&K Flowerbeds were planted throughout the city. New Yorkers for Parks and the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation organized the event to commemorate the five-year anniversary of the Sept. 11th terrorist attacks. HOK members planted bulbs at a children's playground in Chelsea, including, clockwise from top left: Sarah Donato, Dan Levin, Julie Walters, Bryant Bosland, Wayne Striker, Hui Ward, Christine Muller, Lauren McKenna, Bill Palmer, and Jade Zheng.

 

The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 164, based in Paramus, N.J., recently graduated 105 local men and women, including 27 Bergen County residents, from its Electrical and Telecommunications Apprenticeship Training program. The three major developers comprising the joint venture partnership of Struever Fidelco Cappelli and Yonkers Mayor Philip Amicone were honored by the Westchester County Association for their leadership in plans to reshape Yonkers. SFC recently unveiled a $1.5 billion plan for the first phase of the redevelopment.
