The Shore Builders Association of Central New Jersey recently presented its Builders Employing Associate Members award to the Walters Group, a residential and commercial real estate organization based in Barnegat, N.J. The BEAM award recognizes member firms that contracted with the highest percentage of companies in the association during the previous year. The Real Estate Board of New York, in conjunction with the New York Times, recently hosted “Commercial Crossfire: The Future Is Now” – a forum that aired out hot-button real estate issues. The panelists at the event held in Manhattan included Edward Minskoff of Edward J. Minskoff Equities, Stephen Ross of the Related Cos., Robert Selsam of Boston Properties, and Axel Stawski of Kipp-Stawski Management Group. They discussed topics such as prospects for West Side and downtown commercial development in Manhattan; proposed changes to reform the city’s 421-a property tax program; whether New Jersey cities are a viable alternative for regional commercial property development; and the potential impact that New York City mayors can have on the future of development in the city.
