Phipps Houses Recognizes Contributing Developers

The non-profit provider of affordable housing in New York City honors AvalonBay and the Richman Group at its New York gala.

Phipps Houses, the largest nonprofit provider of affordable housing in New York City, honored two professionals whose work has contributed significantly to building strong communities at its Community Builder Awards Gala in New York. Adam Weinstein, president and CEO of Phipps Houses, presented awards to Bryce Blair, chairman and CEO of AvalonBay Communities, a real estate investment trust headquartered in Alexandria, Va., and Richard Richman, chairman and founder of the Richman Group, a national conglomerate of real estate companies based in Greenwich, Conn. Professional Women in Construction of New York recently held its annual “Meet the Architects & Engineers” networking and table-top exhibit event at Club 101 in New York. The Building Owners and Managers Association of New York recently held a luncheon meeting near the World Trade Center site in Manhattan where Louis Menno, director of site restoration for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, brought industry leaders up to date on the latest work at the site. The Clarett Group, a New York-based real estate development firm, recently celebrated the completion of Place 57, its new condominium at East 57th St. in New York, and previewed the building’s Baccarat Crystal lobby and garden designed by Vicente Wolf.
