Cornerstone Baptist Church members and representatives from city and state offices joined the Community Preservation Corporation, the Department of Housing Preservation and Development, tenants and community residents at a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the successful transformation of 547 Madison St. in Bedford-Stuyvesant into nine new affordable housing units.

Leading the festivities at the "Ailey at the Apollo 2004" performance and celebration were (l. to r.): Sanford and Joan Weill, chairman of the board of the Alvin Ailey Dance Foundation; honorees Sheryl and Daniel Tishman; and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater artistic director Judith Jamison.
