Mancini-Duffy, a New York-based architectural and design firm,
recently accepted the 2005 Lester Dundes Award from the New
York Chapter of the International Interior Design Association.
The award, in the category of commercial real estate under
50,000 sq. ft., recognized the design of offices for Apollo
Real Estate Advisors.
Forest City Enterprises, a real estate developer based in
Cleveland, and Albert Ratner, the company's co-chairman, were
awarded the Urban Land Institute's 2005 J.C. Nichols Prize
for Visionaries in Urban Development, which recognizes commitment
to responsible development. The company's Brooklyn-based Forest
City Ratner affiliate is planning a $3.5 billion redevelopment
of Atlantic Yards in Brooklyn that includes a basketball arena
and a dozen high-rises. Ratner requested that the $100,000
prize be redirected toward efforts to rebuild New Orleans
after last year's Hurricane Katrina.
Clayton Block and Ralph Clayton & Sons, suppliers of
masonry and ready-mix concrete based in Lakewood, N.J., have
moved into a new three-building complex off of Prospect Street
and Route 9.
