Passero Associates of Rochester, N.Y., won two awards
from the American Council of Engineering Companies of New
York. ACEC recognized the firm's engineering work on the Webster
Sandbar sewer and water-main extension in Webster, N.Y., with
a Gold Award in the water and wastewater engineering category.
It also honored the firm's work on the Mill Seat Landfill
in Bergen, N.Y., with a Silver Award for surveying and mapping
technology. Meanwhile, Cameron Engineering & Associates
of Syosset, N.Y., won three ACEC awards, one for its study
of the Massapequa Preserve Streamflow Augmentation & Pond
Restoration, a second for the Long Island Rail Road Long Beach
parking facility, and the last, a Gold Award in the Water
and Wastewater category, for its work on the Glen Cove WPCP
Biological Nutrient Removal project.
Fox & Fowle Architects of New York was awarded
a 2005 Green Affordable Housing Award by the American Institute
of Architects for its work creating a sustainable design for
the Helena, a 37-story building with 580 rental apartments
in Manhattan.
Gruzen Samton of New York has been named the Firm
of the Year for Design Excellence by the New York Council
of the Society of American Registered Architects in recognition
of its performance in matters such as design quality, management,
technical work, client relationships, and project collaborations.
Andersen Interior Contracting of Fairfield, N.J. acquired
the assets of Morlot Construction Corp. of Clifton, N.J.
