NEW HIRES

Garen Apanosian has joined New York-based Stantec, an engineering and architectural firm as structural engineer and project manager with the firm’s transportation division. He will also be assigned as project manager and quality control engineer for the 2010 biennial inspection of the Goethals Bridge and LaGuardia Airport bridges as part of Stantec’s continued inspections.

Ryan Starbuck has joined New York-based Stantec as engineering designer in the firm’s transportation division.

Emily Demarest has joined New York-based Stantec’s architecture division as an architectural designer.

Neil Lucey has joined Parsons Brinckerhoff, an infrastructure strategic consulting, engineering and program/construction management organization as senior vice president in the New York office.

Will Wilson has joined Parsons Brinckerhoff’s Geotechnical and Tunneling Excellence Center in Princeton, New Jersey as risk manager.

PROMOTIONS

Rosemary Scanlon has been promoted from professor to director of academic affairs at New York University’s Schack Institute of Real Estate, home to graduate degree and related graduate certificate programs including real estate and construction management.

HONORS AND APPOINTMENTS

H2M, an architectural and engineering consulting firm based in Melville, New York was awarded the Diamond Engineering Excellence Award from the American Council of Engineering Companies of New York.

Consolidated Carpet, a full-service flooring and carpet contractor based in New York received first place in the Large Corporate category of the 2010 Starnet Design Award competition for the Coty Beauty Lancaster Group project located in the Empire State Building.

Joshua Muss of New York-based, Muss Development has been honored by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People Brooklyn Chapter with the “Leadership in Commerce and Industry” award for the firm’s successful Minority Women Business Enterprise program during expansion of the New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge.
