Swanke Hayden Connell Wins Three
Awards
The Society of American Registered Architects has named Swanke
Hayden Connell Architects the recipient of three awards as
part of its 2003 Professional Design Awards program.
The firm was recognized at the recent SARA annual convention
in New York, N.Y. with the National Firm Award as well as
two additional awards for the Planned Parenthood Federation
of America and Randall's Island Fire Training Academy projects.
Anatomy Lab Renovation Completed
The SoHo architectural firm of Stonehill & Taylor has
completed work on a high-tech gross anatomy laboratory for
the Weill Medical College at Cornell University in Ithaca,
N.Y.
The $1.35 million project involved renovating 5,000 sq. ft.
of lab and classroom space at the medical school's campus
at 1300 York Ave. and outfitting it with the latest in audio-visual
equipment.
N.J. Project Designed by Schoor DePalma
Schoor DePalma has been contracted by Waters & Bugbee,
Inc., a utility construction contractor, for the design of
site layout plans of an equipment yard and 15,000-sq.-ft.
building in Hamilton, N.J.
The firm's site design work will provide Waters & Bugbee
with the dimensional layout of proposed and existing site
facilities including building locations, roadways, parking
areas, driveway design, landscaping features, access design,
street signage and pavement markings.
PB to Consult Airport Projects
Parsons Brinckerhoff was hired by the Port Authority of New
York & New Jersey to provide professional consulting services
for projects at John F. Kennedy International, LaGuardia and
Newark Liberty International airports.
Among services will be providing conceptual designs, feasibility
studies, pre-design and post-design professional work, scheduling
and cost estimating, reviewing plans, specifications and technical
reports and master planning.
