Text size: A A

The New Jersey Department of Transportation recently announced the start of a resurfacing and pavement reconstruction project on Interstate 295 from Exit 24 to Exit 32 in Camden and Gloucester Counties.

This $69 million project is being funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and calls for essential infrastructure improvements. “This is a much-needed rehabilitation project that will preserve a critical roadway, boost the economy and create jobs,” stated the office of Governor Jon S. Corzine.

NJDOT will rehabilitate I-295 in Barrington, Bellmawr, Cherry Hill, Haddon Heights, Haddonfield, Lawnside and Tavistock in Camden County West Deptford and Westville in Gloucester County and replace five I-295 bridge decks.

Construction on the project will begin north of the I-295/76/42 interchange maintaining three travel lanes in each direction between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m. throughout construction in order to minimize impacts to local businesses and residents.

Construction is scheduled for completion in summer 2012.
