Tom Lewis US Operations Group VP The Louis Berger Group
"Right now, what's going on in the industry is impacted heavily by Hurricane Sandy," Lewis says. Lewis, who is based in Morristown, N.J., says the storm will likely increase public-private partnerships in the state. Aside from the storm, an urban development trend is growing in N.J. and N.Y., because properties near public transit are becoming more desirable, Lewis says. "It makes sense to start building up, rather than sprawling out, near transit stations, especially in Long Island where traffic is so bad," he adds.
