A City that Will Endure

In fifty years and even 100 years, this city will be standing because it is more than its vaunted skyscrapers, more than its Great White Way and more than its premier status as a world financial center.

It is a world city - a haven for people all over the world. The foundation of this city is a powerful idea that is stronger than steel or concrete. It is etched on the side of the Lady in the Harbor and in its Constitution and its Bill of Rights. There is no other place like it in the world and no terrorists have or will find a way to destroy an idea that is so powerful.
