Industry to Remain Productive, Dynamic

The metropolitan New York City construction industry over the years has been the nation's most productive and dynamic.

Will all that change? I think not. Technology will certainly bring greater efficiencies. The on-line and wireless world will insure more rapid exchange of information and more productive construction. It will dictate a different kind of marketplace with changing workplace, commercial and transportation needs.

But the relationships among and between owners, designers, contractors, subcontractors and labor will probably not change, because they will continue to be dominated by the competitive pressures of the marketplace.

Construction will continue to be a high-risk business, but hopefully a safer business, continuing to build a great city and a great America.
