Dedicated People: A Key Ingredient

In thinking about the next 50 years in New York Construction, the last 50 years and the phrase, "the more things change the more they stay the same" come to mind.

Fifty years ago, the city was in the midst of a great boom; Bob Moses was in full bloom. The tunnels and bridges connecting Manhattan with New Jersey and the rest of New York were completed in the near past, and the United Nations was just completed. Lincoln Center, Madison Square Garden, Rockefeller Center West, the World Trade Center and other great buildings and the things that make our city the capital of the world were soon to be a reality.

But what made those great things happen was innovative and dedicated people. Just as we do today and we will 50 years from now. Some of the names will be the same and some have changed but the dedication to making our city and community better will still be the same. Who knows what the shape of the city will be in 50 years? But I do know the same kind of dedicated, brilliant people will be around making it happen as there were 50 years ago and as there are today.
