Triangle Equities Development Co. plans to build a 20,000-sq-ft, mixed-use waterfront development at the base of the Staten Island Ferry site. The project will include 150 luxury residential condominium units and 45,000 sq ft of retail housed in historic buildings along a waterfront esplanade. Long Island Power Authority plans to build a 940-megawatt wind farm off the coast of Jones Beach. The project would place between 190 and 260 giant turbines across miles of ocean that would be connected to a LIPA substation in Melville. The project is valued at $1 billion. The City of Milford is starting the renovation and expansion of the East Shore Middle School. Cooper University Hospital is starting construction on the 158,300-sq-ft Cooper Cancer Institute in Camden. The first floor will feature the lobby and reception area as well as a radiation oncology area and space for future MRI expansion. The second floor will feature a multidisciplinary care center, patient financial services and academic space. The third floor will feature an infusion area, pharmacy, lab, cancer administration and a research area. The fourth floor will be shelled for future cancer needs, and the six upper floors will consist of 132,000 sq ft that will house medical labs, offices and/or nursing facilities. The Connecticut Dept. of Transportation is starting construction on a new passenger terminal facility to replace the existing Terminal B complex at Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks. The complex will include one or more terminal buildings and concourses including ticketing areas, baggage claim, baggage makeup, concessions, passenger and baggage security screening, passenger hold rooms, airport and airline operations areas and aircraft gates with passenger loading bridges. Town of Southington Municipal Offices is beginning the renovation of the Joseph A. DePaolo Middle School and the John F. Kennedy Middle School in Southington.
