New Regional Hires for Engineering Firms

STV adds a chief structural engineer, Parsons Brinckerhoff a senior vice president, Thomas Group a project architect, and Vollmer a new chief environmental engineer.

HIRES AND PROMOTIONS

Visha Szumanski has joined STV Inc., a New York-based architectural, engineering, and construction management firm, as vice president, and will serve as chief structural engineer for its New York facilities practice.

Dan Disario has been hired as an associate directing the traffic group in the Trenton, N.J., offices of Langan Engineering, an engineering and environmental services firm based in Elmwood Park, N.J. David Charette has also joined the firm as an associate directing the natural resources group and Beverly Williams is the new director of human resources.

Paul Skoutelas has been named a senior vice president at Parsons Brinckerhoff, an engineering and construction management firm based in New York.

Thomas Politi has joined the Thomas Group, an architectural and engineering design firm based in Albany, N.Y., as a project architect. The firm also hired Michael Fahie as an architectural CAD operator in its Farmingdale, N.Y., office.

Joseph Cavanagh has been hired as the new director of environmental engineering at Vollmer Associates, an engineering, architecture, and landscape design firm based in Eatontown, N.J.

Heather Lion has joined the New York headquarters of Horton Lees Brogden Lighting Design, an architectural lighting firm, as a designer.

James Brown has been tapped to be the new national director of transportation environmental programs at HDR, a New York-based architectural, engineering, and consulting firm.

Terry Ried recently joined TVGA Consultants, an engineering firm headquartered in Elma, N.Y., as senior engineer in municipal services. In addition, Peter Trieb has been hired as project manager in the firm's federal market sector and Heidi Reed has been named a project manager in the environmental division.

Marguerite Carnell Rodney has been hired as director of historic preservation at Schoenhardt Architecture + Interior Design, a firm based in Tariffville, Conn.

Patrick Sullivan has joined the New York headquarters of Warburg Pincus, a venture capital and private equity firm, as managing director overseeing the firm's domestic real estate activities.

Phil Procopio has been promoted to property manager at Swig Equities, a real estate development, investment, and management firm based in New York.

HONORS AND APPOINTMENTS

Michele Medaglia, president of ACC Construction, a New York-based construction management company, was honored recently by the Americans of Italian Heritage for her contributions to the Italian-American community.

Elisabeth Post-Marner, a design principal in the Stamford, Conn., office of Perkins Eastman, a New York-based architecture and planning firm, has been inducted as president of the New York chapter of the International Interior Design Association for the coming year. Susan Dimotta, a principal with Perkins Eastman who directs healthcare and senior living projects, has been inducted into the association as director of healthcare.

Judith Manzi, a telecommunications instructor at the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 164 Training Academy in Paramus, N.J., was one of two women in a class of 130 students who recently completed the advanced instructor training program at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville National Training Institute.

Michael De Chiara, a founding partner of the New York-based construction law firm Zetlin & De Chiara, was recently appointed to the U.S. State Department's Overseas Building Operations industry advisory panel. He serves as the representative of the Association of Owners and Developers.
